The experienced Argentine endured a difficult start to the season as he was frequently overlooked by former manager Tony Pulis, but he has been given an important part to play in the early stages of Pardew’s tenure.
Against United, Yacob will have to be at his best to limit the space available to Jose Mourinho’s side in order to give West Brom the best chance of taking something from the game.
Yacob may not be the most gifted player technically but he can be of crucial importance in terms of making West Brom more resilient as they look to avoid relegation.
With West Brom currently in 17th place in the Premier League, there is still much work for them to do to stay up, but Yacob’s recent displays at least give them some hope.
