Should Aston Villa renew interest in Stefano Okaka.

Stefano Okaka of Watford celebrates scoring his sides first goal with Roberto Pereyra of Watford during the Premier League match between Watford and Liverpool at Vicarage Road on August 12,...

Watford striker Stefano Okaka is keen to quit the club this January after a lack of first team chances.

The Watford Observer report Okaka’s agent said it is ‘the sooner the better’ that Okaka leaves, so he can play first team football.

One club who could decided to consider the striker is Aston Villa.

Stefano Okaka of Italy in action during the international friendly match between Germany and Italy at Allianz Arena on March 29, 2016 in Munich, Germany.

The Daily Mail reported in 2016 that Villa held talks with Anderlecht over signing the forward, only to end up getting beaten to his signature by Watford.

Okaka has had an inconsistent career but is talented – evidenced alone by the fact he has represented Italy at international level and previously played for Roma.

He scored against Liverpool on the opening day of the season, but the subsequent arrival of Andre Gray and Troy Deeney’s return from injury has blocked his first team chances.

Villa have been relying on winger Albert Adomah’s goals this season, who has netted 11 goals, and their next nearest player is midfielder Conor Hourihane on five.

Signing a striker should be priority, and Okaka’s likely availability would provide a simply solution should Villa decide to re-establish their interest.
