Liverpool have been linked with a summer move for the Ajax ace.

Jurgen Klopp manager

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will surely be looking to bolster his ranks at Anfield this summer, regardless of whether they manage to lift any silverware this season or not.

One area in particular where the German will be looking to strengthen is his attacking department, with more quality competition needed for his current front three.

Xherdan Shaqiri, who earns £80,000 per week according to Spotrac, hasn’t quite lived up to expectations since joining Liverpool from Stoke City in the summer of 2018, and Klopp might be tempted to show the Swiss the exit door at the end of this season.

If the Reds do let Shaqiri leave, Klopp will obviously have to bring in another attacker, and according to French publication Le 10 Sport, that man could be Ajax ace David Neres.

And the Swiss winger out and the Brazilian starlet in would be exceptional business for Liverpool.

The 22-year-old has been in scintillating form for Ajax this season, racking up 12 goals and 15 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions, and it seems as though he will go on to become a real star.

According to the Sun, Neres is available for £45 million this summer, and in today’s market, that must surely be considered as excellent value for money.

The Brazilian winger possesses pace in abundance, has exceptional technical ability and his fearless, direct playing style makes him ideally suited to Klopp’s setup at Liverpool.

And should the Merseyside outfit manage to capture the Ajax ace this summer, whilst shipping out Shaqiri, it could turn out to be excellent business for them.
