Everton are said to be interested in signing the Stoke City play maker.

According to Calcio Mercato, Everton are interested in signing Stoke City’s Xherdan Shaqiri this summer, and he could be the match winner that Sam Allardyce’s side have been lacking this season.

Everton have plenty of creative options in their squad, with the likes of Theo Walcott, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney all capable of carving out chances for their teammates.

However, Everton have lacked the sort of soloist talent that Shaqiri is.

The Swiss international may be frustratingly inconsistent, but on his day he is a real weapon and a match-winner.

And if Everton could bring him to Goodison Park, he is the sort of mercurial player that they have been missing.

Everton would need Shaqiri to start producing his top form more often, but if he could perform to his potential, he would be an excellent addition.

And Toffees fans should be excited by the potential of seeing Shaqiri strutting his stuff on Merseyside next season.
