Arsenal new-boy Granit Xhaka spoke to Sky Sports in an exclusive interview and shared his thoughts on life at the Emirates so far.

The Gunners have been in sparkling form of late, and have gone unbeaten in eight matches after their opening day defeat to Liverpool, with Xhaka impressing when he has been given a chance in the first-team.

The Switzerland international has seen his chances limited thus far, but an injury picked up by Francis Coquelin during Arsenal’s demolition of Chelsea last weekend has opened the door for him to cement his place in the starting XI.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Xhaka offered his evaluation of how he has settled in North London:

“I’m happy that I’ve scored those two goals – don’t expect me to give that every week – but what’s most important is that the team play and perform well and that we reach our objectives.”

Xhaka certainly seems to possess the attributes that the Gunners have severely lacked over recent years. His tenacious attitude and stamina levels are combined with impeccable technique when in possession of the football, along with a magnificent range of pinpoint passing.

The prospect of the 24-year-old lined up alongside Arsenal’s more experienced Spanish wizard Santi Cazorla in the middle of the park is a real mouth-watering one for Gunners fans.

Xhaka spoke further of Arsenal’s ambitions for the season, and the determination amongst the squad:

“We obviously want to have a consistently good season and show the fans that we’re going to give absolutely everything in every game. Of course to do that we’re going to need a bit of luck along the way but we’re really going to give our all to have a successful season.”

Arsenal travel to Turf moor tomorrow to take on Burnley as they look to continue their positive run of results.
