WWE superstar, Edge, has reacted on Twitter to West Ham and Chelsea duo, Declan Rice and Mason Mount, recreating his signature wrestling move – the famous spear.
During their downtime, footage emerged of Rice holding an inflatable shark, throwing it into the swimming pool before Mount wound run and spear it into the pool.
Yes, that is all correct. These are, dare it be said, soon-to-be Euro 2020 champions breezing their way to England’s first major trophy in over 50 years by recreating moments from their childhood.
Whilst Mount channelled his inner Edge when providing the spear to the poor inflatable shark, Rice turned into legendary commentator, Jim Ross.
As the Chelsea playmaker went flying into the swimming pool, Rice added his own unique commentary: “And it’s Edge, he’s coming off the top rope,” laughed the West Ham man.
It was all fun and games from the midfield duo, who were preparing for England’s semi-final showdown with Denmark at Euro 2020 on Wednesday with some light-hearted fun.
But this is what Edge posted on Twitter when the footage emerged of Rice and Mount.
Well, the England players will be hoping to provide their own spear to Denmark out on that Wembley pitch on Wednesday.
Many of these England players will be hoping that it’s the Dane’s who are pinned down into submission because this is going to be their toughest test of the tournament.
With a roaring Wembley crowd behind them and an array of attacking talent going forward, it’s pretty obvious that Gareth Southgate holds the power.
But if Denmark cause an upset here then they will be hoping to recreate their own magical moment from 1992, when they shocked the world and became Euro champions.
