With West Ham losing 3-0 at home to Southampton in the Premier League, a section of their supporters left the ground before full-time, raising questions of where Slaven Bilic’s side go from here after a poor run of form that started at the beginning of the season.
West Ham’s start to the season is getting worse, and Bilic has a huge job on his hands to turn around their results, particularly at the London Stadium.
Start to life at their new home has not gone well with the 4-2 defeat to Watford and most recently the 3-0 loss to Southampton the biggest disappointments.
Bilic’s side look deeply uncomfortable at the London Stadium, and against Southampton, their defending was poor, with the Guardian reporting that club captain Mark Noble stated his side’s defending was laughable in their 3-0 defeat.

But there still remains faith in Bilic as a manager and with good reason as he was the man chosen to lead their revival last season after being appointed successor to Sam Allardyce.
We take a look at why Bilic is the right man for the job.
1. Winning mentality
As both a manager and as a player Bilic had and still has a winning mentality, something that was shown last season as the Hammers gained a number of impressive results.
Last season Bilic guided West Ham to home wins over Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, and Chelsea as he instilled a mentality where they refused to give up on any game, fighting to the end.
This season has seen a number of changes in key positions, but Bilic is the man to get those players used to the winning mentality he has created at the club, as the club look to progress from their push for Champions League football last season.
2. Ability to get the best out of players
Bilic showed last season that he has a knack for getting the best out of players, something that was evident in the form of players such as Michail Antonio, Mark Noble, Cheikhou Kouyate and Aaron Cresswell.

As impressive as the form of these players was, equally impressive was the form of Andy Carroll, when fit, and what Bilic is demonstrating is his ability to get players playing to the top of their game, something that Antonio is showing, despite West Ham’s current lack of form.
3. The Stadium comfort factor will come
West Ham’s form at their new home has been indifferent at best and their performance against Southampton saw a number of fans leave the ground before full-time.
Bilic’s side have looked uncomfortable at home as they look to get used to their new surroundings in Stratford.
But West Ham’s form last season was impressive and they way Bilic set his team up in those home games, provided the launch pad for much of their form throughout the season.
Bilic is undoubtedly the man that can lead West Ham out of their current run of form, and should they produce similar form to last season, a push for european football could once again be on the cards.
