Watford’s Jose Holebas celebrates scoring their fourth goal with team mates
Watford beat West Ham 4-2 at the London Stadium in the Premier League, having launched a rousing comeback from two goals down.
After being 2-0 up, thanks to two well taken goals from Michail Antonio, Watford launched their comeback through Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney in the first half, before Etienne Capoue and Jose Holebas gave Watford all three points.
The new era in West Ham’s new home was meant to go a lot smother than this, but Watford showed their fighting spirit and the character of a team willing to give everything to fight for their place in the Premier League. It was an impressive comback.
We take a look at the main talking points and what we learned from West Ham v Watford:
Payet showed a moment of brilliance
Payet was involved in both West Ham goals, but it was the part that he played in their second that will stick in the mind.
Having taken the lead through Antonio, West Ham looked for a second, and having swapped wings Payet produced a moment of skill that bewildered Watford defenders and gave the watching crowd at the London Stadium a moment to remember.
The Frenchman tormented Miguel Britos, turning him one way, then the next, before delivering what has now become known as the rabona perfectly for Antonio to put West Ham 2-0 up.

Against Watford, Slaven Bilic’s side fell to pieces and questions will be asked as to whether this might have happened had they been in the more enclosed confines of the Boleyn Ground.
West Ham were far too complacent
Having found themselves two goals up after 33 minutes, it is a wonder how West Ham never left this game with at least a point, especially having scored the first goal so early on in the game.
But Watford produced a rousing comeback and West Ham fans can be under no illusion that the home side capitulated horrifically. To lose the game from a two goal cushion shows how complacent West Ham were.

Deeney and Ighalo are back on song
Having struggled for goals this season, both Deeney and Ighalo appear to have found their form and were back on target for The Hornets in their stunning comeback.
It all seemed so unlikely as West Ham fired out of the blocks, but credit must be giving to Ighalo and Deeney for starting the amazing fightback that resulted in Watford winning their first three points of the season.

Results are starting to worry West Ham fans
Results are getting very worrying, not just for supporters but also for Bilic, West Ham have now lost three out of their four Premier League games and have also been knocked out of the Europa League.
What was more worrying against Watford was the way they lost. West Ham lacked any real fight and when Mazzarri’s side went after them, they capitulated.
