The Leeds United youngster looks to be leaving Elland Road this summer.
Billy Whitehouse may have only joined Leeds United in 2016, but confirmation via his Twitter account that he will be leaving this summer should come as no real surprise.
After all, it could be argued that the writing was on the wall after his one and only first-team appearance – when Leeds were knocked out of the FA Cup to non-league Sutton United.
Whitehouse was given the chance to impress along with some of Leeds’ other fringe players and youngsters, but they fell well short of what was expected of them, losing 1-0 and making it increasingly difficult to warrant another chance.
Leeds manager Garry Monk will have no doubt hoped that in resting his key men and giving others a chance, some would have seized it with both hands.
Unfortunately for Whitehouse, he looked out of his depth even against a Sutton side 83 league places below them when the match kicked off.
Whitehouse played 73 minutes on the day before being replaced by Kemar Roofe, and although there were glimpses of his ability he did nowhere near enough against opponents he should have been bossing.
Now it seems he will attempt to kick-start his career elsewhere, with his one abiding memory of taking to the field for Leeds being on the wrong end of an historic giant-killing.
