Leeds United hitman Patrick Bamford has received an impressive cosign from a certain Ian Wright.

Bamford helped the Whites to a 3-0 win over Fulham at Elland Road on Saturday as Marcelo Bielsa’s side moved top of the Championship – and established an eight-point cushion in the top two.

And it was the 26-year-old striker – a £10 million addition in 2018 [BBC Sport] – who got the scoring underway early on.

The former Middlesbrough attacker casually slotted home the opener after a clever cut-back from Helder Costa on 10 minutes.

Arsenal legend Wright knows a thing or two about finding the net, having done so on 185 occasions for the North London club during his playing days.

Here’s what the now-pundit tweeted to Bamford yesterday:

If this is the start of a purple patch for Bamford, there’s no stopping Leeds as they look to end their 16-year exile from the Premier League.

The United front man has had some barren spells in front of goal this season, and went almost three months without scoring during the first half of the campaign.

But if Bamford is firing on all cylinders for Leeds between now and the end of the campaign then you have to think it’ll be enough to get the over the line.
