Ian Wright noticed Alexandre Lacazette telling Arsenal players to pass to other people rather than himself yesterday.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Wright suggested that both Lacazette and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang needed to do more to help their Arsenal teammates out.

Arsenal were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby and, despite having much of the ball, they posed very little attacking threat.

Wright felt that one of the reasons why Arsenal struggled to create chances was a lack of movement up-front.

And the Arsenal legend has called on Lacazette and Aubameyang to start showing for their teammates more often.

“They’re not taking chances on passing the ball into areas where they can hurt the opposition,” Wright said.

“Xhaka has actually got nothing in front of him, so it goes to the side. When it comes back into him, again you look in-front and there’s nothing.

“Yes, Hojbjerg is in there, but you want someone who can move them about a bit. Lacazette is pointing telling them to pass to someone else!

“Aubameyang could go and come short, but it’s not happening.

“Look at our forwards, something has to happen. That’s got to change.”

Lacazette actually played in a number 10 role for Arsenal yesterday, but he never truly looked comfortable.

The Frenchman appeared frustrated at times, as he was given very limited space to work in by the likes of Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Moussa Sissoko in Tottenham’s midfield.

Arsenal’s defeat to Spurs means that they have now slipped 11 points behind their North London rivals at this early stage of the season and unless Lacazette and Aubameyang find their shooting boots soon, it is difficult to see how the Gunners turn their results around.
