Liverpool fans feel that they may well have landed another gem in Kaide Gordon, after he joined them from Derby County in January.

Gordon was handed his first game for Liverpool’s under-23 side last night and it did not take him long to get off the mark.

The 16-year-old bagged in a 2-0 win over Leicester City at Liverpool’s training ground.

And Reds fans are starting to become seriously excited about the youngster they landed from Derby.

Gordon certainly has wasted no time in making his presence felt since joining Liverpool.

In his last four under-18 games he has six goals and the fact he is now already making an impact at under-23 level is also highly encouraging.

With Harvey Elliott also already at Anfield, Liverpool’s wing duo for the next decade could actually turn out to have played for their academy sides, after being signed at such young ages.

And it will be interesting to see if Gordon plays a part in Liverpool’s pre-season after such a promising start to life with the Reds.
