Sheffield United have confirmed the signing of Algerian international Adlene Guedioura.
The Blades announced on their official website that the 35-year-old midfielder had put pen to paper for the Bramall Lane side. Guedioura will can play for Sheffield this week against Preston North End.
Despite the transfer window closing almost two weeks ago, Sheffield were able to sign Guedioura due to the veteran midfielder as he was a free agent and had been training with the Championship side for some time.
Guedioura said about joining Sheffield United: “I’d like to thank the manager and the club for allowing me to come to train and have the opportunity to show what I can do.
“I am really happy to end up with a contract now until the end of the season, so I am up for the challenge and ready to start.”
With the Blades just winning once this season, the arrival of Guedioura is a much-needed addition for the Sheffield giants. The midfielder’s experience in both England and internationally will be a boost to Slavisa Jokanovic’s side.
