It’s been a rotten few days for Liverpool.
First, the Reds were denied victory in the Merseyside derby after Jordan Henderson’s last-minute strike was controversially ruled out.
Then Virgil van Dijk was ruled out for the season following the challenge from Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford that saw him substituted after 11 minutes.
Van Dijk has played a massive role in Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League success since 2019, meaning his absence is certainly going to be felt.
