Tim Sherwood detailed the contrast on Premier League Productions between Everton and Tottenham’s benches during their 2-2 draw on Friday night.
The former Premier League boss pointed out ‘the kids’ on Everton’s bench compared to ‘the stars’ on Tottenham’s.
Carlo Ancelotti had two obvious senior players to call from on Friday night – and he did – in Seamus Coleman and Joshua King.
Whilst Jose Mourinho opted against using Gareth Bale, Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Winks.
“Look at the two benches,” said Sherwood. “Look at the kids on the bench there. I know Seamus Coleman has a wealth of experience.
“But the kids there for Everton, in contrast, when you look at the Tottenham bench. WOW!
“They have got stars, who are going to be very prominent in the Euros and next year’s World Cup.”
Ancelotti made two substitutions on Friday, and both made an impact, one pretty instantly.
Coleman was brought on for Alex Iwobi, and within 30 seconds, he was whipping in a cross for Gylfi Sigurdsson to guide home.
Whereas Mourinho opted against bringing on Bale, and Dele Alli only came into the fold in stoppage-time when Harry Kane was forced off.
