Southampton fans have taken to Twitter in shock after witnessing a ‘joke’ of an incident in the 0-0 draw with West Ham yesterday.
During the first-half at St Mary’s, the ball was bouncing around in Southampton’s box as West Ham attempted to score from a deep freekick.
Che Adams had fallen to the ground after contesting a header with Craig Dawson, where he then lay next to the ball.
Without a moment of hesitation, Dawson swung his boot towards the ball, but instead made contact with the Southampton No.10’s head.
Somehow, Adams was able to get up and play on, when he easily could’ve suffered terrible concussion from the 18th minute incident.

In fairness to Dawson, he immediately checked to see if the former Birmingham striker was okay.
The ex-West Brom centre-back probably shouldn’t have swung his boot as carelessly as he did.
However, he was inches away from goal with the ball loose, so he’s more than entitled to go for it.

It’s just unfortunate that Adams’ head pops up in front of the ball just before Dawson’s boot arrives to make contact.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of any lasting damage to the Southampton forward.
However, that hasn’t stopped the Southampton fans discussing the brutal incident on Twitter…
