Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Arsène Wenger commented on speculation surrounding Harry Kane’s future.
Speaking to beIN Sports (via the Evening Standard), the Frenchman said: “Tottenham are in a position where they can be ambitious and we should not judge only today’s situation. Tottenham was top of the league in December.”
At last, a bit of sense on this topic!
Sky Sports, and plenty of other media outlets, have been churning out article after article about why Kane should leave Spurs in search of silverware.
What very few of them fail to mention, however, is that Tottenham are in a good position to satisfy the England international’s need for trophies.
Jose Mourinho has led Spurs to a cup final, and as Wenger states, had the north Londoners in a very promising position before the wheels started to fall off a bit.

There is an exceptional bunch of players at Tottenham right now, who could seriously challenge for silverware with one or two marquee arrivals.
It’s almost as if people forget the club played in a Champions League final as recently as 2019!
Of course, when you’ve fallen down to sixth and also crashed out of the Europa League, the likes of Sky Sports will start to speculate, like they have been.
However, Wenger is right – we must look at the bigger picture in regards to the £200,000-a-week striker’s future.

In our view, trophies are closer to Tottenham’s grasp than they, and others, might realise.
Let’s see what the Spurs fans on Twitter have been saying about Wenger’s comments…
