Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Glenn Hoddle said he thinks Declan Rice is the best player in the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, this is quite the statement from Hoddle, and Liverpool fans understandably disagree – has he heard of Mohamed Salah?
Of course, the West Ham No.41 is an incredible footballer, and is undoubtedly among the best ten players in England’s top-flight right now.
However, it’s a bit of a stretch to call him the outright best player in the Premier League.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Hoddle said: “Declan Rice is the best player in the Premier League. but for me, Phil Foden could be the best player in the world. He has everything!”
Aside from Salah, we’re sure the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne and Virgil van Dijk will have some questions too.
So far this season, the 73-cap Egypt international has scored 15 goals in 15 games, while also providing six assists – in our view, he’s the best on the planet right now.
West Ham man can take Liverpool talisman’s crown one day

Make no mistake about it, Rice is destined for the pinnacle of football.
At just 22, he’s already captain of West Ham – when Mark Noble doesn’t play – and has racked up 27 caps for England.
Rice also has 142 Premier League appearances to his name – he could retire as one of the all-time greats, in our view.
If he remains in England, we’re sure that he will become the best player in the Premier League one day.

Rice can drive forward, tackle, shoot, intercept, pass, win headers, and rarely gets injured – he is the full package, and the Hammers are lucky to have him.
For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Hoddle’s comments…
