
Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Athletic revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold had funded a ‘brilliant initiative’.
What’s the story?
Well, the £180,000-a-week Liverpool man has made a significant, multi-year financial commitment to help hundreds of youngsters across Merseyside.
Alexander-Arnold will fund The Trent Alexander-Arnold League for five and six year olds in West Derby, which has already benefitted 250 kids.
The Athletic add that the initiative is being led by Ricky Heywood, who acts as the key link between Liverpool’s academy and the club’s charitable foundation.
Ian Barrigan, Liverpool’s Head of Pre-Academy Recruitment, claimed that it was Alexander-Arnold’s idea, and his funding has helped make it happen.
Liverpool’s Academy has already snapped up several youngsters who have impressed in The Trent Alexander-Arnold League.
To help increase inclusivity, the Reds have also created a boot bank at Kirkby, so unwanted footwear can be passed onto children in need of kit.

Funding The Trent Alexander-Arnold League will provide untold help to those kids on Merseyside, who are perhaps struggling in life.
By helping them to access regular football, it will distract them and give them something to focus on, and potentially keep them out of mischief on the streets.
It also benefits Liverpool as a football club.

As aforesaid, the Reds have already snapped up some youngsters who impressed in The Trent Alexander-Arnold League.
In that respect, the 23-year-old may already have helped find the next young star who will one day replicate what the right-back is doing under Jürgen Klopp.
