Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Atalanta forward Josip Iličić posted a photo of his new tattoo.
The tattoo in question shows the 33-year-old touching the Liverpool Football Club sign as he walks out of the tunnel at Anfield.
Interestingly, the 70-cap Slovenia international is a massive Liverpool fan, something that many weren’t aware of judging by the replies.
Funnily enough, Iličić nearly joined his beloved Reds back in 2015, just before Jürgen Klopp arrived to replace Brendan Rodgers.
Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that Liverpool were close to securing his signature in August 2015.
However, Paulo Sousa blocked the deal, leaving the Reds with Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino in that window instead.
He may be getting on a bit now at 33 years of age, but Iličić has shown plenty to suggest he is still capable of performing at the highest level.

Atalanta’s No.72 has scored six goals in 28 Serie A appearances this season, while also recording ten assists.
Impressively, he also managed to score four goals in one game last season against Valencia, in the Champions League Last 16 of all stages.
In doing so, he became the first player in Champions League history to score four goals away from home in the knockout phases.

He also surpassed Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the oldest player to score four goals in the Champions League, as CBS Sports stated at the time.
If Klopp did surprisingly reignite Liverpool’s interest in the Slovenian, then there’s every chance he could be a surprise success.
For now, let’s see how the Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted to Iličić’s tattoo…
