Leeds United fans have praised the performance of Ollie Watkins for Brentford last night.

Leeds were left frustrated as Brentford continued their fine form and beat Preston North End 1-0 to keep the pressure on them at the top of the table.

It was Watkins’ strike which proved the difference between the two sides, as the Brentford forward drilled in a half-volley from the edge of the area.

And some Leeds fans have now suggested that if Brentford do come up short, the £20 million-rated striker (West London Sport) should be right at the top of their list of summer targets.

If Leeds were to land Watkins they would surely have to pay big money to bring him in, but he could be a wonderful addition.

Watkins has been more clinical than Leeds’ first choice striker Patrick Bamford this term, and comfortably leads him in the goalscoring charts.

Leeds seemingly are going to have to get over the line themselves in the promotion race as Brentford just won’t stop winning.

The Bees have won eight games on the spin to close the gap to Marcelo Bielsa’s side down to three points.

However, with just three games remaining this season, Leeds are still in a commanding position to go on and achieve promotion back to the Premier League.
