Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Noni Madueke signed a new contract with PSV Eindhoven, amid interest from Liverpool.

What’s the story?

Well, this is disappointing news for Crystal Palace fans, as the Eagles have been strongly linked with the London-born winger.

Liverpool are also believed to be interested in Madueke, as are Tottenham.

Both sides are said to have scouted the 19-year-old, who has began the season on fire with six goals in nine games.

Madueke has penned a four-year contract with PSV Eindhoven, effectively ending speculation about his future.

Arsenal, Wolves and Leicester are also interested – the teenager’s stunning form this term seems to have made most of the Premier League take notice.

Madueke news not so bad for Liverpool, but crushing for Crystal Palace

In our view, Madueke’s new contract is more heartbreaking for the likes of Crystal Palace and Wolves than for Liverpool and Tottenham.

A £34m price tag was being discussed even before he renewed his deal, so it’s frightening to think what he’s worth now.

At that price, with Premier League money in the bank, Crystal Palace and Wolves might just have been able to afford him.

However, should he continue his form and hit 20 goals this season, we could soon be looking at a similar fee to the £73m Manchester United paid for Jadon Sancho.

Borussia Dortmund wanted Madueke as a replacement for Sancho anyway, so he’s definitely on a similar trajectory to the England international.

For now, let’s see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted after hearing about Madueke’s new contract…
