Norway head coach Stale Solbakken has said today that Odegaard – on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid at the moment – is the new captain of the national football team, as quoted in VG.

Solbakken has said that the 22-year-old attacking midfielder was “super ready” for his role.

In interviews, the youngster comes across as a sensible young player who keeps his feet on the ground, and him becoming the leader of his national team shows just how good he is and how much confidence he has of his manager and teammates.

Arsenal fans have seen glimpses of the talent of the youngster, and they will hope that his new role for Norway and his wonder-goal in the Europa League on Thursday evening will help him elevate his game.
