Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was announced that Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhães would partake in the Olympics.
The Gunners duo have been called up to Brazil’s squad for this summer’s Olympics, along with the likes of Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and Ajax’s Anthony.
It is a big opportunity for the pair to achieve something special with their country, and hopefully return back to north London with gold medals.
However, the Arsenal fans below don’t see it that way.
Some are frustrated that Martinelli and Gabriel won’t be getting a full pre-season under Mikel Arteta now.
The Spaniard has been keen to express the importance of having a proper pre-season, something that he wasn’t afforded in 2020 due to COVID-19.
Now, he will get a normal pre-season, with the exception of two players who are among Arsenal’s best – how frustrating.
EURO 2020 will also disturb his plans.
You can’t begrudge Martinelli or Gabriel for wanting to go.

The Olympics don’t come around often, so it is clearly an opportunity that both feel they have to take – understandably so.
While some Arsenal fans are upset by this news, it will be a fantastic experience for two young players.
Brazil also have an excellent chance of winning the whole thing.

If both South Americans return to London Colney with huge smiles on their faces and gold medals around their neck, surely it would be worth them missing a bit of pre-season, right?
Their morale would be sky high.
Let’s see how the Arsenal fans on Twitter reacted to this news…
