Matt Murray has said on Sky Sports News (2:25pm, December 26, 2021) that he was stunned by Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah when he first saw him in training.

The Sky Sports pundit has said that he could not believe just how good a finisher Arsenal striker Nketiah is.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper worked with Nketiah in the England youth set-up.

Murray said about Nketiah: “I was fortunate enough to work with some of these young players. He was in the group with England.

“There was Phil Foden, Sancho, all of those boys, and Nketiah, the first day I saw him train, I thought, ‘Wow! What a finisher!’”

Eddie Nketiah’s uncertain Arsenal future

Nketiah is not a regular in the Arsenal first team and has been linked with moves away from the Gunners.

Crystal Palace reportedly want to sign the former Leeds United loanee.

The 22-year-old himself has reportedly told Arsenal that he will not sign a new deal.

The striker is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season.

In our opinion, the youngster should leave Arsenal and find a new club.

Nketiah is 22 now, and for him to progress and develop, he needs to play regular first-team football.

Yes, the striker scored a hat-trick against Sunderland in the Carabao Cup, but that was against League One opposition.

We think that the youngster needs to play against stronger teams to really improve.

Nketiah is not going to do that at Arsenal, as manager Arteta simply does not play him enough in the Premier League.

The Arsenal no. 30 has played only 38 minutes in the Premier League so far this season.
