Lee Hendrie lauded reported West Ham target Adam Armstrong for having an ‘absolutely brilliant’ season, as he told Sky Sports during their live coverage of Blackburn’s win at Boro on Sunday.
If you are a striker – whether in England or abroad – and you are scoring goals then, more than likely, those in the East London boardroom will have your name on a transfer list somewhere.
Well, following Armstrong’s 17 goals for Blackburn in all competitions this season, it has seen West Ham register an interest in the 23-year-old, according to TEAMtalk.
Former Aston Villa midfielder Hendrie is a big fan of the Newcastle academy product and he was especially impressed with the ‘hunger’ in Armstrong’s game.
“This man, wow, he has been absolutely brilliant this season,” said Hendrie. “Any sight at goal, he won’t turn that opportunity down.
“That’s what I like. I like the hunger from the striker. Sometimes, it can frustrate players, especially midfielder where you want him to square one. But he’s squaring nothing.”

This is what perhaps frustrates West Ham fans because it’s obvious that they need a striker yet there isn’t anything concreating emerging.
All the rumours circulating are all seemingly stemming from a list drawn up and it’s a case of which deal can be made.
A player like Armstrong would be a smart purchase because he has the hunger, speed and potential to be a success at the London Stadium.
Plus, the likes of Ollie Watkins and Neal Maupay are proof that taking a punt on Championship players is worth it.
