Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been waxing-lyrical about Harry Kane after his incredible performance against Leeds.

Kane was brilliant against Leeds at the weekend. He grabbed a goal and an assist as Spurs won 4-0.

In the process, Kane actually helped set a Premier League record as he secured himself and Heung-Min Son’s spot as the division’s most prolific duo in history.

Ferdinand was blown away by the England captain’s performance, labelling him as a ‘joke’.

What’s been said?

Ferdinand didn’t have enough good things to say about Kane.

“Kane and Son, they put on a clinic, I’m telling you. Harry Kane, wow, he put on a performance against City and he was brilliant. Then he goes away to Leeds, probably the perfect game for Spurs, but he was toying with Leeds, he was like a sixth former against a first year, he was like a man against boys, he was a joke. Him and Son have the most goal contributions in Premier League history, ahead of Drogba and Lampard, ahead of Henry and Bergkamp,” Ferdinand said.

Back to his best

Kane has had a slow season so far by his standards, but now it looks as though he’s getting back to his best.

To be fair to Kane, he’s had to contend with managerial changes and a Euros hangover this season, but now that he’s finally got a bit of stability at Spurs, he’s once again showing his class.

Don’t be surprised if Kane starts scoring and assisting week after week from here on in.
