Speaking to the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Peter Schmeichel has waxed lyrical about Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka.
You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who hasn’t been impressed by Saka’s performances this season, but it’s still great to hear a bona fide Premier League legend speaking so highly of the Arsenal youngster.
The teenager has been one of the Gunners’ standout performers this season, and Schmeichel has certainly been impressed by what he’s seen.
“It’s safe to say they (Arsenal) have massively underperformed this season, but he hasn’t. He’s 19 years of age, I can’t even remember off the top of my head how many times he’s been man of the match for Arsenal,” Schmeichel said.
“It’s a lot to put on somebody so young’s shoulders, but this guy, I mean wow. He’s an interesting player, we’ve seen with all the great teams that you can think about, you have players like that who can dribble, who are quick. He can cross a ball, he can cross a ball with quality, he’s strong and he’s physically very strong.”

Schmeichel makes some great points here, but one thing that many possibly don’t realise about Saka is how physically strong he is.
Schmeichel points out Saka’s strength here, and that’s an attribute of the winger’s that often goes under the radar.
As the former Manchester United star says, it’s a lot of pressure to put on a young player’s shoulders, but he’s stepped up to the plate brilliantly, and that’s the sign of a top player.
