West Ham United face a tough run of fixtures in the coming weeks.

Joe Hart of West Ham United look dejected after the Premier League match between Everton and West Ham United at Goodison Park on November 29, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Pundit Paul Merson has told Sky Sports’ Soccer Special (29/11/2017) that he thinks West Ham United will still be in the bottom three after their next three games.

The Hammers travelled to face Everton on Wednesday night, and were hoping to build on a 1-1 draw with Leicester as well as capitalise on Everton’s disastrous recent form.

However, West Ham were decimated at Goodison Park, with Wayne Rooney bagging a hat-trick – including a goal from his own half – and Ashley Williams also notching in a 4-0 win for the hosts.

With Manuel Lanzini having a penalty saved for West Ham, it was a truly miserable night for the Hammers, and new manager David Moyes is still searching for his first win since taking the job.

West Ham remain in the relegation zone, sitting 18th in the Premier League table, two points adrift of safety after picking up just two wins in 14 league outings this season.

The Hammers now face a horrific run of fixtures, as they travel to take on Manchester City this weekend before a home double-header against Chelsea and Arsenal.

West Ham’s displays suggest that they will struggle to get much out of those three games, and pundit Paul Merson has told Sky Sports’ Soccer Special (29/11/2017) that he thinks West Ham will still be in the relegation zone after those three games.

Merson offered a stunned ‘wow’ when hearing of those fixtures, and believes that taking even one point from that run would be a success for the Hammers.

“Wow,” said Merson. “Well they’re going to still be in the bottom three, and then – I think if you’re West Ham – you’re looking at results around you. You’re coming in at full time asking how Stoke got on, how West Brom got on, and I seriously think that if they took a point out of those next three games, they’ve had a result,” he added.
