Gabriel Magalhaes has signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal.
The Brazil international joined for £27 million from Lille during the summer of 2020 and has since established himself as an integral part of the Gunners’ defence.
On Friday evening, Arsenal announced that the big centre-back had signed a new deal in North London.
And here’s what Nuno Tavares – loaned to Marseille this past summer – wrote on Instagram.

He said: “Wow, English bread is flying.”
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka also chimed in, simply writing, ‘Congrats bro’ to his teammate under the club’s Instagram post.
This is obviously excellent news for the Emirates Stadium outfit, but its fanbase will want follow-up announcements about Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
Both have proven themselves massive parts in Mikel Arteta’s first XI, with the duo helping the North Londoners to reach top of the Premier League after 10 games played.
However, the young wingers are out of contract at Arsenal in the year 2024 and obviously it goes without saying that it’s hugely important Arteta and Edu get them signed up sooner rather than later.
Gooners know what it’s like to lose some of their biggest players on the cheap due to reduced time on their contracts.
And given that Saka and Martinelli are two of the brightest prospects to come through at Arsenal for a while, it’d be a tragedy if the club lose one of them – or both – for a reduced fee.
