Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club posted a tweet about the players training during the international break.

Usually, this probably wouldn’t get much attention, although recent reports have made the mere matter of training a hot topic on Tyneside.

After the 3-0 defeat to Brighton, the Daily Mail revealed that Steve Bruce gave his players six days off.

The report adds that Newcastle’s players have become concerned about their amount of days off, and consequential lack of training.

It truly is baffling.

For a side sat precariously above the relegation zone, you would expect Bruce to have his players in at Darsley Park for extra training.

However, that isn’t the case. The Daily Mail claim that Newcastle will only train three times this week.

If Fulham and Brighton aren’t doing the same, then why does Bruce think this is acceptable?

Does he not want to amend the club’s worrying plight?

Newcastle have just two wins from their last 18 Premier League games, which is relegation form to say the least.

Next up is Tottenham, before clashes with West Ham, Liverpool, Arsenal and Leicester follow a trip to Burnley.

That is a daunting run of games – at the very least, Newcastle should be training overtime to prepare for them.

Let’s see how the Newcastle fans reacted to the club’s tweet…
