Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that he was impressed by the display produced by Naby Keita against Manchester City on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool got the better of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium in the FA Community Shield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez scored the goals for Liverpool.

Keita did not start the match, but the 27-year-old Guinea international midfielder came on as a substitute for Thiago in the 85th minute.

The midfielder played only a few minutes, but that was enough to impress Liverpool manager Klopp.

Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita

Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “Millie is, I am not sure which level he can reach this year to be honest, it looks very promising with Millie. Curt [and] Naby… wow when Naby came on.”

Important player

Naby Keita did well for Liverpool after he came on as a substitute against Manchester City.

The midfielder kept the ball ticking over and did not take any unnecessary risks.

The 27-year-old has had injury problems during his time at Liverpool so far, but he is now fit now.

Liverpool will be aiming to win the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup this season.

Keita will get his chances for the Merseyside club and will be a big player for the Reds in the coming weeks and months.
