John Terry has labelled Mo Salah’s goal as ‘unbelievable’ on his Instagram story after Liverpool and Manchester City thrashed out an all-action four-goal thriller on Sunday.

There was a big build-up to the Anfield showdown, with Liverpool and Man City both trying to make their mark in the title race during the early stages of the season.

The standout moment during the game came when Salah, on the edge of the area, danced his way past a number of Man City players, fainted to shoot on his stronger left foot, cut back onto his right and fired the ball home.

It was a strike for the ages from Salah, who is probably the best player, not just in the Premier League, at the moment, but in the world.

Given that Salah scored his goal 15 minutes from time, many inside Anfield would have thought that was the winning goal.

But Kevin de Bruyne had other ideas because his curling effort, from the edge of the area following a fast-break, ended up hitting Joel Matip on the chest and going into the back of the net.

Nonetheless, it was a stunning effort from Salah and the standout moment of the game, with two of the recent English champions trading some serious blows in the first half.

Liverpool fans won’t argue that they were second-best during the first 45, but the half-time team talk brought something else out of them and they opened the scoring through Sadio Mane after the restart.

But Phil Foden, who caused the Reds all sort of problems out on the left, equalised, before Salah channelled his inner Lionel Messi and cut loose.
