Some Liverpool fans on Twitter believe that Rhian Brewster has dropped a hint about potentially leaving the club.
The 20-year-old hitman has been linked with a £20 million move to Sheffield United in recent days [Sky Sports].
Brewster, a Liverpool academy prospect, joined Swansea City on a half-season loan last term and scored a very impressive 11 goals in helping the Welsh club reach the playoffs.
But first-team chances could be hard to come by for the young marksman this season, with Roberto Firmino being Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice option up front by a mile.
And Brewster has poured fuel on to the flames with regards to a possible move away from Anfield by ‘liking’ a post on Instagram about him joining Chris Wilder’s side.
Here’s how Liverpool fans reacted to the striker’s social media move:
Even if it’s for big money, Liverpool should reject any offer that comes their way.
Yes, he won’t play ahead of Firmino on a regular basis, but you could argue that his 11-goal haul for the Swans last term puts him ahead of Divock Origi in the pecking order.
And with the Belgian striker also linked with a move away, it’s possible that Brewster could get a promotion.
If he fulfills every ounce of potential that he has, Brewster is a star and Liverpool don’t want to be looking back on this in the coming years and wish they had kept him.
