Ian Wright was left stunned by Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’s assist during England’s thumping 6-2 win over Iran at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Monday, as he told ITV Sport.
England ran riot in Doha, and whilst Kane didn’t get on the scoresheet, he managed to add two assists to his name during a memorable Group B opening encounter.
The best assist was the one the 29-year-old provided for Raheem Sterling in the first half, which was England’s third goal on the day.

Like Kevin de Bruyne in the colours of Manchester City, he whipped in a quite stunning cross right into the path of Sterling, who poked the ball into the back of the net with a first-time finish.
That was Kane at his very best and further proof of why he is one of the best forward’s in the world, as Wright just couldn’t believe what he was seeing from the Tottenham man.
“Wow, Harry (Kane),” said Wright. “That’s a great goal. Come on! The way he put it in and the finish isn’t easy. Come on!”

STATEMENT START BY ENGLAND
Harry Kane is England’s main player and top performer, but the fact that he didn’t get on the scoresheet, yet he watched his teammate score six is something pretty impressive.
What he also proved is that he can produce near 10/10 performances, yet not even get on the scoresheet.
Kane won’t say it out loud, but he will be slightly disappointed that he didn’t score because, whilst he will want to help England secure the World Cup, he will also be wanting to chase back-to-back Golden Boot awards.
