Ian Wright and Alan Shearer have taken to Twitter to react after watching Aaron Ramsdale pull off a phenomenal save in Arsenal’s 2-0 win earlier.

What’s the story?

Well, the £24m man did superbly to keep his clean sheet intact just on the stroke of half-time, as he superbly tipped James Maddison’s effort onto the bar.

To make the 42nd minute moment even better, Ramsdale then managed to prevent Jonny Evans from bundling the ball into the back of the net.

It was unquestionably a contender for Save of the Month, and even for Save of the Season – it was an otherworldly stop from the 23-year-old.

After watching the incredible moment, Wright made a reference to all of those who questioned the signing of Ramsdale.

Shearer also shared his views on the Englishman’s save, which you can see below.

Without a doubt, it was a key moment for the Gunners, as it prevented Leicester from going into half-time with some encouragement.

Aaron Ramsdale justifies Mikel Arteta decision for Arsenal

Over the summer, Mikel Arteta and Edu weren’t actually on the same page when it came to Ramsdale, which is certainly a concern.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal’s Director of Football was not convinced by the ex-Bournemouth glovesman, and wanted Barcelona’s Neto instead.

However, Arteta pushed hard to bring Ramsdale to the Emirates Stadium.

With each passing week, the Arsenal No.32 is justifying the Spaniard’s decision, and making his manager’s talent identification skills seem very impressive.

In our view, it is a worry that Edu couldn’t foresee what Ramsdale would bring to the side – he is the Director of Football, after all.

Hopefully, the Brazilian will learn from being proven wrong by Arteta.
