Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka has been seemingly been attracting interest recently, including from Liverpool.
Gary Neville has labelled reported Liverpool target, Bukayo Saka, as ‘special’, whilst speaking to Sky Sports Premier League (23/02/20 at 16:55 pm),
The Daily Mail previously claimed that Liverpool are monitoring Saka’s situation at the Emirates Stadium – his contract runs out next summer.
The attack-minded player, who is playing as a left-back, provided an assist for Mikel Arteta’s side during their win against Everton, which wowed Neville on commentary yesterday.
Saka is a winger by trade, but he has been playing at left-back for his club because of injuries in that position. It’s fair to say that Neville was impressed with what he saw from the player.
“Well that was a special, special cross from Saka,” Neville told Sky Sports. “Out of nothing. Iwobi sleeps a little bit but doesn’t do too much wrong.
“But the cross [from Saka]. Wow! But it’s really not a lot a defender can do about that. The goalkeeper as well. The quality of the cross is absolutely outstanding – it was perfect.
“I think it would be a little bit harsh to suggest that the Arsenal fans were celebrating Kolasinac going off [because of an injury in the first half]. But there was a little a bit of a cheer and an uplift [when Saka came on as Kolasinac’s replacement].
Despite being only. 18, Saka has been a revelation for the Gunners this season, and his performances are even more impressive considering his side have struggled for large parts this term.
Over the course of the season, he has played 28 matches in all competitions, supplying 10 assists for his side [transfermarkt].
It would be a surprise if Saka does leave the Emirates Stadium for Liverpool, but given the Merseyside clubs current position and where they will be in the summer, the champions-elect will no doubt want to dip into the market and use their current powers to sign the best of the best.
