Amadou Onana and Conor Coady have taken to Instagram to react after Everton teammate Alex Iwobi scored a fantastic goal for Nigeria.

Alex Iwobi continues good form away from Everton

Well, the £34m man has been a revelation under Frank Lampard so far this season, and his fine form continued while on international duty.

Iwobi scored a screamer from long range as he and Nigeria were held to a 2-2 draw against Algeria, with his exquisite strike receiving plenty of interest from Coady and Onana.

The latter was almost left speechless, simply writing “wow” on Instagram after the £100,000-a-week Everton man posted footage of his amazing goal against Algeria.

Coady had a bit more to say, as he wrote: “Great finish my son, now make sure you recover properly.”

With the form Iwobi is in, Everton fans all over the globe will be hoping he does recover properly, as they and Lampard need him fit for the return of Premier League football on October 1st.

The Toffees travel to Southampton on that date, and confidence should be high after securing a first win of the season against West Ham last time out.

Alex Iwobi finally stepping up for Everton

Plenty of people poked fun at Iwobi after he struggled on Merseyside following a £34m move from Arsenal in 2019.

In truth, Everton made a rod for the Nigeria international’s back by spending such a large fee on him, although he is finally starting to prove himself under Lampard.

Iwobi impressively received a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award following an outstanding September, in which he shone in the Merseyside derby while also assisting Neal Maupay’s winner against West Ham.

At the age of 26, the Everton No.17 is now entering his peak – if Lampard continues to work closely with him, the sky is the limit for Iwobi at Goodison Park.
