Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club posted some 18-second footage of Ben Godfrey playing in the 2-1 win over Leeds.

The clip in question shows Everton’s £25 million man surging up the Elland Road pitch last night, leaving plenty eating his dust.

Godfrey picks up the ball just outside his own box, before charging past Jack Harrison, Kalvin Phillips and Ezgjan Alioski.

When it looks like the England Under-21 international has run into trouble, he then pulls off a tidy turn before laying the ball off to Alex Iwobi.

The Nigeria international can then deliver an enticing cross into the box, all thanks to Godfrey’s brave surge up the pitch.

This kind of desire and athleticism seems to be a trademark feature of the 23-year-old’s game.

Another clip showing Godfrey sprinting the length of the field for Norwich against Stoke last season only emphasises that point.

With an incredible skillset already, and with plenty of time to get even better, Everton’s No.22 is a frighteningly good prospect.

Additionally, under a coach like Carlo Ancelotti, he’s in the perfect place to thrive and fulfil his potential.

Let’s see what the Toffees fans on Twitter have been saying about the club’s 18-second footage…
