Arsenal fans have hit back at Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel after he called their win on Wednesday night ‘lucky’.
Arsenal went to Stamford Bridge in midweek and put in a solid defensive performance to pick up a 1-0 win.
The Gunners capitalised on a Chelsea error to score their goal and then defended for their lives, as they claimed an unexpected three points.
After the game Tuchel wasn’t exactly complimentary of Arsenal’s display though.
He said to Football London: “It is a totally lucky win & nobody can argue with that. It is not a deserved win, not at all for Arsenal. But I don’t want to go there 100 per cent because we all lacked concentration. Maybe I also gave some signals to the team with changes that Saturday is on my mind.”
And Arsenal fans have been left totally unimpressed by the Chelsea boss’s comments.
In fairness to Tuchel, Arsenal didn’t show too much attacking intent in the game.
But their defensive shape was very strong and blunting Chelsea’s attack is no easy feat right now.
For that the Gunners deserve credit, and after a season of having very little to celebrate, it is no wonder to see Arsenal fans frustrated with their achievement on Wednesday night being downplayed.
