After 15 Premier League matches, a historic club takeover from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), and a managerial change, Newcastle finally have a win.

The Toon claimed a 1-0 victory against Burley at St. James Park to secure their first win of the 2021/22 season, with the result taking Eddie Howe’s Newcastle side off the bottom spot in the Premier League to 19th and three points from safety.

Indeed, a win has long been coming for Newcastle ever since the PIF takeover of the club. However, as we reach December in the calendar, the Magpies finally have the three points they so desperately wanted.

With the festive fixtures of games about to kick-off, Newcastle claimed a win at the perfect time, with games about to come thick and fast for the northeast club, and PIF celebrated the win with an official post.

PIF took to their official Twitter account to congratulate Newcastle on their first win of the season. The post simply read: “#PIF congratulates @NUFC on the club’s first @premierleague win of the season. #NUFC.”

Indeed, PIF have plenty of work to do if they are to make Newcastle the titans of European football the ownership group stride to do. Yet fans on social media are happy with the support.
