Leeds United fans have loved seeing Raphinha winding up the Brentford fans after their late equaliser yesterday.
What’s the story?
Leeds played out a 2-2 draw with Brentford, with Patrick Bamford rescuing a point for the Whites at Elland Road in the 95th minute.
It was Raphinha’s excellent corner which set up the goal, which was taken right in front of the away support.
Leeds players, including Ilian Meslier, charged forward to celebrate with Bamford after he had scored – but Raphinha was the one who didn’t join the group.
The Brazilian had other plans instead.
He turned straight to Brentford’s supporters after the goal went in and revelled in winding them up.
Raphinha pointed to the Leeds badge, sparking uproar in the away end, while there was pandemonium going on behind him.
And Leeds supporters loved seeing the clip filmed from the away end after the game.
Leeds’ most important player?
Raphinha’s celebration was just another moment to make himself an even bigger cult hero at Elland Road.
He has now arguably surpassed even Kalvin Phillips and Bamford to become Leeds’ most integral player.
The skilful winger is a constant source of goals and assists, and he has carried the fight for Leeds this season.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s late equaliser yesterday was absolutely vital for them, as it continued to put distance between themselves and the bottom three.
