What a squad Liverpool have right now.

You could argue that Jurgen Klopp had four first-team players out injured ahead of this afternoon’s visit to Crystal Palace.

Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, Liverpool’s best two centre-backs, are out injured, as are summer signings Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota.

All four more than likely would have started Liverpool’s trip to London today, but Klopp’s side still leave the capital with a ridiculous 7-0 win – their biggest away victory in their Premier League history.

Goals from Takumi Minamino, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino gave the reigning champions a commanding lead at half-time, before Jordan Henderson and another from the Brazilian forward put the game to bed.

But there was still time for Mo Salah to come off the bench to score two of his own.

It’s a ridiculously-good squad that the German manager has assembled here, under the circumstances.

And here’s what Chris Sutton joked at full-time:

Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho claimed that ‘the best team lost’ when Liverpool beat them 2-1 at Anfield in midweek.

And former Reds star and Sky pundit Phil Thompson has taken a swipe at the Spurs boss for those comments:

Klopp’s side are six points clear at the top of the Premier League at the moment.
