Speaking on The FPL Show, Ben Johnson has named Liverpool’s Luis Diaz as his toughest opponent in the Premier League this season.

The Reds have so many talented attackers, but according to Johnson, Diaz is the best he’s played against this season.

The full-back labelled the Colombian as extraordinary, claiming that he’s settled in brilliantly since joining Liverpool

What’s been said?

Johnson named Diaz as his toughest opponent this season.

“Luis Diaz from Liverpool, yeah, wow. He’s an extraordinary player. He’s so sharp, he tracks back, he’s strong, he has a good leap. He’s adapted to life in England so quickly to play for a top club like Liverpool,”  Johnson said.

Settled in quickly

The scariest thing about this is that Diaz is only six games into his Premier League career, and he’s already being called the best player Johnson has faced this season.

Johnson has played against some of the very best footballers in England this term, but for him, Diaz presented the hardest challenge.

To be fair, we can see where he’s coming from. The winger was absolutely electric against West Ham last month, and while he didn’t score or assist in that particular match, he ran the Hammers’ defence ragged.

Diaz has started just six league games this season and we can’t help but feel that the best is yet to come from the Reds’ January signing.
