Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford reacted in shock and laughter on his Instagram story to Jude Bellingham’s message.

This is the Leeds man’s first training camp with England, so the senior players will no doubt be looking after him.

But 18-year-old Bellingham cheekily posted on his Instagram story, ‘looking after my son’, as he accompanied the caption with a picture of the Dortmund star with his hand around Bamford’s neck in a consulting manner.

Bamford simply responded with laughing emojis and a one-word message: “Wow”.

Whilst it’s all fun and games from the teenager, it just goes to show how good the mood is around the England camp.

Whilst in years gone by, players would allow club rivalries to seep its way onto the international stage, it’s not the case with these players.

For perhaps decades, there haven’t been many English players that have got on so well together, but these players certainly do, as was proven at Euro 2020.

Nonetheless, with both Bamford and Bellingham starting the win against Andorra last time out, they will, more than likely, have to do with a place on the bench against Poland this evening.

Harry Kane should be recalled in place of Bamford, who earned just over 60 minutes on his Three Lions debut on Sunday.

Whilst the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice should resume their midfield roles.

This will be a much tougher test for Gareth Southgate and his players, so whilst Bamford blanked on debut, his goalscoring qualities might just be needed in Poland.
