Millwall defender Scott Malone has admitted to News At Den that he was stunned by Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane when he came up against the attacker in 2017.

Malone was part of Huddersfield Town’s team when they were in the Premier League, and Kane often reserved his best football for when he played against the Terriers.

The Tottenham forward was a frequent scorer at Huddersfield, and one hat-trick he netted against them three years ago still sticks in Malone’s mind.

“I remember when we were 3-0 down to Spurs after about 25 minutes. Harry Kane got the ball three times and they scored three times. It was like, ‘wow’. You just can’t make a mistake,” Malone said.

“The demands are really tough.”

Kane’s 2017/18 season for Tottenham was his highest scoring campaign in the league to date.

Kane notched 30 goals that year, as Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League standings.

Since that date, Kane has struggled more with injuries – but he remains Spurs’s star player, and he has started this season in brilliant form.

Kane has scored three goals in four Premier League outings, but also has six assists to his name already.

And, in this form, Malone may well be thankful that he shouldn’t have to come up against the Tottenham striker again any time soon.
