Everton should consider a summer swoop for the Wolfsburg ace.

Marco Silva the head coach

It is fairly obvious to see that Everton need to sign a prolific striker this summer, if they are to make a real push for the top six next season.

Marco Silva has the makings of a really exciting team at Goodison Park, but their lack of goals up front could undermine their chances of enjoying a successful campaign.

And with this in mind, the Toffees should consider a move for Wolfsburg hitman Wout Weghorst.

The 6ft 6in colossus would be a smart addition for Everton, and here’s why…

Height

There aren’t many better in the air than the Dutchman. He would provide the Blues with a fantastic final point from which to build their attacking play through, and he would give Silva’s side a totally different dimension to their play in the final third.

Goal record

The 26-year-old has notched an impressive 108 goals in 260 career club appearances. He racked up 18 goals in 36 games for Wolfsburg last season. And if he produced similar numbers for Everton next season, he would undoubtedly take them to another level.

Ability to link up play

Despite his height, Weghorst has impressive ability with the ball at his feet, and he is very efficient when linking up play between midfield and attack.

His record of seven assists last season highlights just how much he brings others into play.

Whether Wolfsburg will be willing to sell the three-capped Holland international remains to be seen, but Everton should test the Bundesliga outfit’s resolve nevertheless.
