Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to express their jealousy over a signing made by Crystal Palace in 2020.
While some might assume it’s Eberechi Eze, given his blistering start to life in the Premier League, the player they’re jealous about might surprise you.
The Emirates faithful are full of envy in regards to Jack Butland’s arrival at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles signed the England international from Stoke for just £1 million last year, as they looked to provide Vicente Guaita with some competition.
Why are Arsenal fans jealous about that, you might ask?
Well, the Gunners are currently having a few issues themselves in regards to finding backup for Bernd Leno.
After Emiliano Martinez was sold to Aston Villa, Arsenal signed Rúnar Alex Rúnarsson from French outfit Dijon.
However, he has looked largely unconvincing in between the sticks, and dropped the ball into his own net against Manchester City recently.
David Ornstein has even revealed that Arsenal are already looking to loan the Icelandic glovesman out.
Nobody knows how Butland would’ve performed at Arsenal.
However, if they chose to sign him over Rúnarsson, then at least Mikel Arteta would’ve had another homegrown option in his ranks.
