Brentford fans were delighted on Twitter with David Raya’s performance in the League Cup yesterday amid interest from Arsenal.

The 25-year-old helped his Brentford side beat West Brom on penalties, as he saved a crucial spot-kick from Grady Diangana.

The Daily Mail have claimed that Raya wants to move to Arsenal this summer and despite signing Runar Alex Runarsson, the Gunners recently had a bid rejected for Raya’s services [Telegraph].

Brentford fans were pleased with Raya’s display and one fan even suggested that his return to the starting XI proves that he wants to stay.

The Bees supporters were clearly pleased with the role the Spanish man played as Thomas Frank’s men have booked their place in the next round.

Arsenal sold their back-up Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa this summer and he was saving penalties of his own on his debut.

Arsenal’s record transfer deals

  1. Nicolas Pepe

    £72 million

  2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

    £56 million

  3. Alexandre Lacazette

    £52 million

  4. Thomas Partey

    45 million

  5. Mesut Ozil

    £42 million

It remains to be seen whether the North London club will still push for Raya’s services given that he’s back in action for the Bees and whether they feel Runasrsson can play that back-up role to Bernd Leno.
