Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Arsenal’s pursuit of a new attacker and Serge Gnabry.
The Gunners are in the market for a new attacking option. They’ve made two bids for Raphinha, but with the Brazilian looking set for Chelsea or Barcelona, the north Londoners will have to look elsewhere.
According to Bailey, there’s an outside chance that the Gunners bring Serge Gnabry back to the club.
The journalist says that Arsenal have a definite interest in the German, but, unfortunately, there is a suspicion at the Emirates that Gnabry will be signing a new Bayern Munich contract.
What’s been said?
Bailey spoke about Gnabry.
“There is an interest there, there is a definite interest there from Arsenal, as with a lot of teams, they are keeping track of the Gnabry situation with his contact, he’s out of contract next summer in 2023. I wouldn’t rule this one out completely, he’s on Arsenal’s list. The hope is to still get Raphinha, but the lad wants to go to Barcelona,” Bailey said.
“Arsenal do have other options, of course they do, one of them was Richarlison, but obviously he’s going to Tottenham now. I wouldn’t rule Serge Gnabry out completely, but the suspicion at Arsenal is that he will probably sign a new contract.”

Worth a try
Arsenal may think that Gnabry will sign a new Bayern deal, but until there’s a signature on the contract, there’s a chance he’ll be available.
Edu should be at least trying to get the winger back to the Emirates this summer. He’s a world-class talent who has a genuine affinity for the north London club.
There’s no doubt about it, Gnabry could be a better signing than Raphinha. After all, he is a Champions League winner, and depending on the fee, this could be one of the signings of the summer if Arsenal pull it off.
As ever though, completing this deal may be easier said than done.
